Founded: As an agency that is independent the small company Act (67 Stat. 232), 30, 1953 july.
Functions: Provides assistance that is financial small enterprises and investment businesses and to mention and regional development businesses. Licenses and regulates business investment organizations.

History: Founded by the Defense Production Act Amendments of 1951 (65 Stat. 131), July 31, 1951, to encourage small enterprises to play a role in protection manufacturing. Abolished, effective July 31, 1953, because of the Defense Production Act Amendments of 1953 (67 Stat. 131), June 30, 1953. Liquidation tasks and contract that is prime utilized in the SBA because of the Small Business Act of 1953, and EO 10504, December 1, 1953.
